"That Great Clock of life is wound but once and no one has the power to tell what time the hands be still at late or early hour."

Sadly, this is Rick Wearing's hour. I'm sure I share in everyone's sadness knowing that the final chapter has been written in this courageous man's life story. Rick's strong and determined will to live helped him navigate three years of cancer treatments and the emotional roller coaster his terminal illness involved.  His smile and his continued optimism coupled with his unrelenting desire to help others and volunteer in the community, even in his final days, was simply remarkable.

Rick cherished life and he deeply loved his family especially his best friend and beloved wife Sandra.

I will leave you with these words from Will Doxsee:

 A Man to Know

" He is a man to know," they said;

But what there was that drew them to him none could clearly tell.

Some said it was his common sense,

while others praised his wit.

Still others claimed his personality was great.

But when I talked with him

I knew it was because he liked me very much.

That was Rick. His interest in others and their stories endeared him to all who had the privilege of calling him a friend.

Rick died tonight at hospice in Huntsville comfortably and peacefully- encircled with his family at his bedside and wrapped in a blanket of love as his spirit soared from his frail body into the grand mystery that awaits us all on the other side of this life. I told him the porch light was on and that God will be there with open arms to welcome him home.

Details of Rick's Celebration of Life service will be forthcoming. Keep checking on Mitchell's website and of course I will let you know as soon as things have been finalized.

Faithfully yours on this journey we call life,

Diane

Dear Trinity Family,
“Let not your hearts be troubled; believe in God, believe also in me. In my father’s house are many dwelling places; if it were not so, would I have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you?  When I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am, there you may be also.” John 13: 1-13
On this Easter Monday, it is with a heavy heart I have to share with you some sad news about the passing of one of our Trinity members, Mr. Len Ross.  Len died in his sleep last night with a massive heart attack.  It’s a shocker for everyone but nobody more than his lovely and devastated wife Nina Semper-Ross.  “He was my best friend, my everything.”   They were both at our Easter Sunday service yesterday and Len was trying to come up with a plan to get me back for my April Fool’s prank on Wednesday!  The news of Len’s passing is sending a shock wave throughout our faith community and the town of Huntsville.  Details of Len’s celebration of life service will be forthcoming.
Nina, may you feel the shawl of God’s healing love wrapped around your life that has suddenly changed forever.  Please know that your church family is holding you close as you walk through this valley of death.  You are held.  You are always held.
“Thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.” Psalm 23
