Trinity’s Christmas Calendar

“Oh, Come All Ye Faithful And Ye Not So Faithful Too!”

Special Advent and Christmas Services 2025

The First Sunday in Advent – November 30, 2025
This is our Sunday of “Hope”. Today we are lighting the candle of Hope in our Advent wreath.

The Second Sunday in Advent- December 7, 2025
Today we are lighting our candle of Peace in our Advent wreath. Let there be peace on earth and let it begin with peace in our hearts.

It is also White Gift Sunday – warm articles of clothing for our harsh winter weather and gift cards are all graciously and gratefully received.

Our Service of Comfort and Hope-
Thursday December 18 at 7 pm
Christmas is often a season of sadness and loneliness for many people. Come and join us for this service of quiet reflection and memories.

The Third Sunday in Advent- December 14, 2025
Time to break out your annual Christmas sweaters and attire!
As we continue to make our way to Bethlehem, we will light our candle of joy. The closer we get to Christmas the brighter the light on our Advent wreath becomes.

We will also be remembering our loved ones who are no longer with us this Christmas as we place our special ornaments on our “Think of Me” Tree. May our good memories encourage us and fill us with hope and healing.

The Fourth Sunday in Advent or Christmas Sunday – December 21, 2025
This is a wonderful Sunday of celebration. Often, this is THE Christmas celebration for many people who will not be around for Christmas Eve services. Holy Communion will be served this morning.

Christmas Eve Services- December 24, 2025
Family Service – 5 pm
Children get home in plenty of time to hang up their stockings and read The Night Before Christmas.

Carol Sing – 6: 30 pm

Carols and Candlelight Service – 7 pm
This is a quieter, more reflective service with readings and songs as we celebrate the birth of the Christ child in our hearts. Have a Joyous and Blessed Christmas season!

Last Sunday in the year- December 28, 2025
Taize Prayer Gathering led by Kyung-A Lee.
A Taizé prayer gathering is a simple, meditative form of worship that consists of generous silence and repetitive sung prayers. Taizé prayer is named for the ecumenical Christian community that formed in Taizé, France during World War II.

Christmas Blessings from our house to yours!
May the love that made the stars be your guiding light.
May the love revealed in Jesus be your hope and inspiration.
And may the love of the ever-present Spirit
give you courage, joy and hope
now and forever more.
Amen. ###

Community News and Events

Welcome Back! Volunteer opportunities!

Welcome Back! Volunteer With Us!
We love our volunteers!
Sunday morning volunteering is a great opportunity to get involved and be part of creating
and building community together.

Check out the options below:

Morning Greeters
How wonderful it is to be greeted on Sunday morning with a smiling face! As a Greeter, you have the important ministry of welcoming people to Trinity United Church on Sunday mornings. You bring the welcome and we will set up the orientation sessions to fill in the blanks. Sign me up!
Contact Suzy at the office.

Scripture Readers
An easy way to get involved on Sunday is to join our roster of Scripture Readers. You will be contacted during the week for the upcoming Sunday and asked if you are available to read a specific passage in the service. You can also sign up in advance for specific dates.
We’ll send a digital copy of the passage to you to practice during the week. This ministry is open to all ages!
Contact Suzy at the office to sign up.

Coffee Helpers
This ministry of Hospitality is vital to the life and faith of our Trinity community. Sharing a cup of tea and a kind word after the service is a wonderful way to make new friends and reconnect with old ones. We need two volunteers a week to keep the tea and coffee flowing! Can you help?
Contact Barb Dalziel or Suzy at the office.

Communion Servers
We celebrate Holy Communion throughout the seasons
of the church year.
Servers hold trays of bread and juice as people partake of the “Bread of life” and the “Cup of blessing.” This can be a moving spiritual experience for servers who are offering these gifts. If this is something you may like to do, you can speak with Rev. Diane or contact Suzy at the office.

Light Beamer Volunteers
Our Light Beamer program strives to teach our young people to shine their precious God-given light into the world. As a volunteer, your job is to provide a welcoming and safe space for children to learn more about the spiritual teachings of Jesus. Lessons will be provided by one of our Light Beamer leaders. If you like the idea of growing young hearts- give Jeannette McCullough a call or contact Suzy at the office.

Audio and Visual Assistants
Lights, Camera, Action!
Want to help out our Technology Team on Sunday mornings? Since COVID our online ministry has now become an essential part of our outreach into our community and beyond. The church has left the building! Come and learn how to become part of this important ministry in our church community. Training provided. Contact Alastair Dunlop, MaryAnne Mitchell or Suzy at the office.

Thank you
for considering being a volunteer this year at Trinity United Church. Together, we’re better! Come join our growing ministry team here at Trinity United Church!
Autumn blessings,
Rev. Diane
